Cockroach in the Kitchen from a cockroach infestation

German Cockroach

German Cockroach.

The German Cockroach is the most common of cockroach jobs we carry out in Maidstone. The main image gives you a good idea of what they look like, brown in colour and range in size dependent on what stage of maturity they are. They are very easy to pick up if you are not careful about where you shop and what processes they have in place for checking produce. Once they have been introduced to your property they can multiply very quickly.

German Cockroach Infestation.

German Cockroaches are very good climbers so they can get about very easily. They like grease and grime for their feeding and they are classed as a Public Health Insect. They will be close by to a food source but also like warmth so common places to find them are as follows:

  • The back of the fridge.
  • Back of the freezer.
  • Base of a kettle.
  • Back of the oven.
  • In the boiler housing.
  • Back of the microwave.

The list goes on but these should help to identify possible harborage. Other signs are a brown spotting which is there waste. You often find they live together with all stages of their young. If you find you have an infestation then you should act quick before they spread.

How Fast Can A Cockroach Move.

We did a German Cockroach treatment at a bar in Ashford, and whilst carrying out the job we took a little clip to show how fast a cockroach can move. They move very fast if needed so it becomes difficult to treat yourself. They are also nocturnal so most of there activity is done at night.
