What You Need to Know About Mice
Mice are very versatile. They only need a hole the size of a pencil to get into a property, then they use pipes cables and wires to navigate round a property which means they can move around in the cavities of a building without being seen.
Mice are quick reproducers. The gestation period of a house mouse is about 20 days, they have an average of 6 to 8 young, but can be as meany as 14. One female can have 5 to 10 litters per year so a mouse population can grow very quickly if not dealt with.

Mouse Movement.
Mice can get into everything due to their size and this includes buildings. They can climb like we walk and love to set up home in the nice insulation in a loft. This is made even easier when plants are grown up the side of buildings that act as a ladder.
Mice migrate due to a number of reasons. These include depleted food sources and building work being carried out close by. A change in weather can make it too cold to live in their present home, so they move. They are opportunists and inquisitive so if they get the option of a warm environment or easy food source they will take it.
Signs of Mouse Activity.
It is normally very noticeable if you have an infestation. Mice drop about 80 times a day, so they leave an easy identifying mark of their presence. A dropping is black in colour and about the size of a grain of rice. They will also leave signs of smear on a well used route. This is caused by greasy fur picking up grime and then the smear appearing from constant use of that route.
If mice get into your building they can carry disease. They can contaminate food which is not pleasant. Many people are also uneasy with their small size and long tail causing a phobia towards them. If this is the case, we can help with mouse removal.
Mouse Treatment.
It is recommended that action is taken as soon as possible to stop a mouse situation getting worse and the population growing. This will also limit the chance of them spreading disease. Pest-Tech Ltd offer services that can deal with your mouse problem. We can give you advise on possible routes of entry. If proofing is recommended then we can also assist with this as well. All you need to do is give us a call and we can book you an appointment.
Mouse Removal
The common places to find mice activity is in places such as the kitchen, the loft or even in cavities and under floor boards. Mice in the kitchen are looking for food, as they will be picking up food smells. Mice in the loft are normally nesting as it is easy to get round the house from there and its warm and quiet. There routes are normally under floorboards or via cavities using pipes and cables.
