Under the Pests Act 1954, you must obey the law to control rabbit numbers on your property or land. If this is not possible you must stop them causing damage to local crops by installing rabbit proof fencing. If you don’t take action the Secretary of State for the Environment can enforce, control and prosecute if the necessary action is not taken.
Rabbit activity is normally from dusk to dawn, but they will also come out during day if they don’t perceive any danger is present in their environment. The rabbits’ main source of food consists of grass and leafy plants and can cause a lot of damage. Breeding season for rabbits runs between January and July.
